Mike Tyson’s cannabis brand is making ear-shaped weed gummies
Tyson 2.0 launched “Mike Bites” nearly 25 years after the boxer infamously bit a chunk out of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a championship fight.
Mike Tyson’s cannabis brand just launched ear-shaped marijuana edibles, nearly 25 years after he was disqualified from the World Boxing Association Heavyweight Championship for biting his opponent’s ears.
In reference to what became known as “The Bite Fight” against Evander Holyfield, Tyson’s cannabis brand, Tyson 2.0, announced a new product: ear-shaped edibles called Mike Bites — complete with a missing chunk.
Mike Bites ears have a bite mark at the top of the gummy, right where Tyson took off a piece of Holyfield’s cartilage.
The company announced the product Tuesday on Twitter.
It has Tyson’s approval, too. Responding to a tweet about the new product, Tyson said, “These ears actually taste good!”
The gummies will be sold at dispensaries in California, Massachusetts and Nevada.
The 1997 match resumed after Tyson bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear. But Tyson was eventually disqualified and his boxing license was revoked after he bit Holyfield’s other ear. He was fined $3 million.
The former opponents appear to have reconciled. In a 2019 episode of the podcast “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,” Holyfield said he “forgave” Tyson, and Tyson pitched an ear-shaped candy to him.
“You might be in business because we’re going to make some holy ears,” Tyson responded. “Edible ears that got a bit taken out of them. Holy ears.”
Former co-host Eben Britton joked about taking a mold of Holyfield’s ear.
“Well, I could do that,” he replied.
It’s unclear whether Holyfield will receive a bite of the profits from the gummies.
Mike Tyson’s Ear-Shaped Gummies Banned by Colorado Law
Mike Tyson’s ear-shaped weed gummies won’t be coming to Colorado, but not for lack of trying.
When the former heavyweight boxing champion’s new THC-infused edibles, which are shaped like ears with a morsel taken out at the top, hit social media last month, we thought they were too good to be true.
But Tyson’s commercial marijuana brand, Tyson 2.0, confirmed that the infused gummy ears are real, and are currently sold in California. An homage to Tyson biting flesh off of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a 1997 title bout, Mike Bites will be moving into more states this year as well, according to Tyson 2.0. But in Colorado, they’ll need to do some shape-shifting.
A 2016 state law prohibits marijuana edibles from being shaped like humans, animals, fruit or other objects that could attract children, and according to the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division, Holyfield’s chomped ear is just too damn attractive. The vegan, ear-shaped edibles are “directly applicable” to the law banning human body part shapes, according to MED communications director Shannon Gray.
Because of that law, Mike Bites will be manufactured in the shape of a “T” in Colorado, according to Tyson 2.0. The gummies are expected to be in Colorado recreational dispensaries before the end of the summer, a company spokeswoman adds.
Holyfield isn’t receiving a chunk of the profits from Mike Bites, according to a March interview with Tyson 2.0’s CEO. He hasn’t commented publicly on the edibles, but we assume he’s demanding a profit percentage equal to the surface area that Tyson’s teeth ripped off in the third round.

Mike Tyson’s cannabis brand Tyson 2.0 has launched Mike Bites, an ear-shaped cannabis edible gummies in reference to the infamous bite against American former professional boxer Evander Holyfield’s right ear.
The bite cost Tyson a disqualification from the World Boxing Association Heavyweight Championship in 1997. His boxing license was revoked, and he was fined $3 million.
“Holy ears! They’re finally here! Go get your Mike Bites now,” the company said on March 15, posting a picture of a Mike Bites bag on its Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Mike Bites ears gummies have a bite mark at the top of the gummy, exactly where Tyson took off a piece of Holyfield’s cartilage.
Tyson gave the product final approval, responding to a tweet regarding the new product by writing, “These ears actually taste good!”

In an interview with Yahoo! Finance, Wilks said that Mike Bites’ announcement went viral. It will be marketed in California this week starting from Thursday, March 17. However, Mike Bites edible gummies will also be sold in Nevada in two weeks and in other legal recreational cannabis states in the following weeks.
In the same interview with Yahoo! Finance, Tyson 2.0’s Co-Founder and Chairman Chad Bronstein explained that Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have reconciled and have a great relationship now.
He added that Tyson and Holyfield have mutual respect despite the events that brought Tyson to bite Holyfield’s right ear almost 25 years ago.

In 2019, Tyson hosted Holyfield on Tyson’s Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, a popular podcast co-hosted by Tyson and former NFL player Eben Britton.
Asked why Tyson is so successful in the cannabis space, Wilks told Yahoo! Finance that he has been a cannabis advocate for all his entire life. He added that he has become one of the few celebrities who entered the industry and fully succeeded.
Tyson, who is considered one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, retired from the boxing scene in 2005. He later dabbled in film acting, TV and podcasting work and entered the cannabis industry.
Tyson started his career as a cannabis entrepreneur following the legalization of recreational cannabis in California in 2016.
The former boxer champion set up Tyson Ranch in Southern California in 2017. However, according to Wilks, the business failed due to bad management and a lack of cannabis knowledge. “Unfortunately, management wasn’t what it should’ve been,” he said in an interview with Westword in November 2021.
Tyson came back to the cannabis industry in 2021 with Tyson 2.0, a California-based cannabis company designed with his national fanbase in mind, with the mission to produce innovative, high-quality cannabis products, including full-spectrum cannabis flowers and concentrates and consumables available at retailers nationwide.
In late 2021, the company expanded in Massachusetts and Nevada.
Tyson said cannabis has always played an essential role in his life on the company’s website.
“Cannabis has changed me for good both mentally and physically, and I want to share that gift with others who are also seeking relief,” he stated.
In recent years, Tyson revealed that he used cannabis to relax and mental focus during his fighting career.
