I just have to say I am so thankful for CBD and the natural benefits it entails. My family personally does not use doctors or medications , we don't trust either of them.. Had I have taken my son to a doctor they would label him as ADHD and push many medications on him of which I refuse. Roughly 4 out of 5 days at school get bad behavior reports. Well following the advice of my mom I started giving him 1/3 of a 10mg CBD gummy every morning before school. I started doing this 2 weeks ago and he has received a good Behavior report every day since. I am so thankful for the legality of CBD and the dramatic benefits it has!
I am the father of a 5 year old boy who has moderate autism. He is currently attending 35 hours a week of ABA therapy which has helped tremendously with his verbal communication, play skills, and socialization. But he still really struggles with denied access to preferred items, or activities. In his melt downs to whatever situation it may be, he has because aggressive, particularly to his twin brother and 8 month old brother. My wife and I do our best to intervien, but obviously can't keep our eyes on him every second of the day. We are considering CBD oil to see if it would help his, and the families quality of life. I fear that if we consult a doctor about this they may try to steer us towards a prescribed medication. I don't want my son to be sedated, I want him to be the happiest version of himself as he can. We live in Michigan, so Cannabis is now legal, but I don't really know where to turn for laws, brands, milligrams, and doses. And what the laws are for children. Trying to do this the right way and be informed as we can before trying it. Anyone here had any luck with this? Or know where I can turn for answers? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Kids tolerate it better. I've seen no data that says kids with medical issues should not take it or that there are side effects. However, I have seen a youtube video of a kid becoming naturally playful/making jokes, and a toddler wanting to play with toys after taking it. In cancer research for strinking tumors, the younger the kid the higher the dosage.
Does anyone know of a doc or paper summirizing the side effects of studies administering cbd to kids? From what I have casually read, a common side effect is diarrhea with high doses.

In my experience children have had diarrhea, nausea, and at times drowsiness- I'd say diarrhea was most common and occurred about 30% of the time. The rest are very rare- I'd start with lower doses close to 10-15 mg initially, and raise it as necessary.
wow, thank you for this detailed response. I would give you gold but I have none. Have you tried it with your kids?
After reading that study I think CBD is pretty safe. If your child is on any anti-depressants or anti-seizure medications I would seek out medical help, which might be hard to find where cannabis is still illegal.
